With nearly 25 years of experience in the finance industry, John oversees the financial operations of the agency. His responsibilities include financial forecasting, long-term strategic planning, mergers/acquisitions, and partnership development.
Beginning his career at Wolf-Hulbert Company, John was instrumental in developing a property and casualty practice dedicated solely to private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He continues today with a focus on Doeren Mayhew Insurance Group’s private equity practice, as well as all commercial insurance.
Prior to John’s career in insurance, he was a managing partner of JAG Trading LLC, a proprietary equities and derivatives trading firm. While at JAG Trading, he managed portfolio risk using various hedging strategies along with capitalizing on statistical arbitrage and merger/acquisition opportunities. Furthering his financial management experience, he took on various financial positions while working at Peter Securities and Everen Securities.
With over 30 years of management experience, Matthew oversees the day-to-day operations, long-term strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and partnership development for the agency.
Since beginning his career at Wolf-Hulbert Company, he has been instrumental in the growth and development of the agency’s operations, including the establishment of a benefits division, and continues to expand the overall agency’s geographical platform. Matthew is also relied on by local, national and global business owners to insure their companies, as well as their personal lives.
Matthew’s prior experience includes working 9 years in the healthcare industry as a Healthcare Executive at 3 long-term care organizations.
Bryan Gutowsky is a Producer at Doeren Mayhew Insurance Group who specializes in helping businesses with their commercial insurance program across manufacturing, technology, real estate, and other sectors, with a focus on cyber insurance and workers’ compensation.
Kate Furstenau is an Attorney at McDonald Hopkins and part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team. She has experience advising and coaching a variety of businesses on data privacy and cybersecurity matters, including responding to government inquiries and investigations, and obligations concerning state data privacy laws, HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, and state insurance departments.
Brad Atkin is a Principal/Shareholder at Doeren Mayhew. As Practice Leader for the firm’s Cybersecurity and IT Advisory Group, Brad provides solutions that enhance clients’ technology systems, while adhering to strict compliance, thus bolstering the security of organizational data assets.
